Jack Bauer is to return to our small screens this May with a new season of 24. IDW are publishing a new comic to explain what happened between the events of this and the last season. The last time we saw Jack Bauer he was a fugitive wanted by both Russian and American governments.
The title of the new comic is “24 Underground” and will be released in April. It has been written by Ed Brisson (Secret Avengers) and artist Michael Gaydos (Alias).
“Ed burst onto the comics scene with the sci-fi thriller Comeback, which was heavy on plot and adventure, a style that fits nicely with an established property such as 24,” said editor Denton J Tipton.
“We’ve paired the rising star with veteran artist Michael Gaydos, whose draftsmanship and storytelling skills are second to none. Buckle up for a high-octane tale of Jack Bauer’s missing years!”
IDW President Greg Goldstein added: “24 was one of IDW’s earliest successes with licensed comics. And the show’s stature has grown immensely since then. Returning to the world of 24 in comics, in conjunction with this highly anticipated return to TV, makes perfect sense.”
24: Live Another Day sees Kiefer Sutherland return as Jack Bauer with the story taking place in London, focusing on him being hunted by a CIA team as he tries to avert a global disaster.
The series starts on Fox in the US from May 5 and will air later in May on Sky1 in the UK.
