8-Bit Mullet | Console Wars Mixtape

8-Bit Mullet is back with a new mixtape that takes the listener back to an era where video game fans argued over which was better Genesis or SNES.

In the early nineties a bitter battle raged between fans of SEGA and Nintendo in the first of the great ‘Console Wars’. Which was better, the Megadrive/Genesis or the SNES/Super Famicom? Many good gamers lost their lives in this long fought fight which, ultimately, saw no real winner.

8-Bit Mullet is a mashup artist who relives the era in his own unique style with a mixtape that blends music of the time with game samples and sounds. The thirty minute mix will take you down memory lane with a predominantly hip-hop blend of popular tracks of the time.

This mix and more is available from his website 8bitmullet.comNot updating his name to 16-Bit Mullet feels like a missed opportunity.

About 8-Bit Mullet | DJ 8-Bit Mullet is a mashup artist and turntablist with much love for retro video games, TV, movies, commercials, and the oxford comma. His hip-hop & electronic works are fresh spins on soundtracks you’d know and love if you were an 80’s or 90’s child. To him, the pop culture he grew up with is all a big nostalgic blur, so why not mash it all together and see what sticks. 8-Bit Mullet regularly invites local artists to perform at his private parties in Richmond, VA.
