Ant-Man Starts Production!

Ant-Man Starts Production!

Today, production has started on the latest Marvel film, Ant-Man and to celebrate they’ve released some information and the first official picture!

The parting of ways between Marvel and director Edgar Wright was very public earlier this year with many film news sites bringing forth rumours and stories of what really caused the split. Of course, we’ll probably never know.

Marvel soldiered on and hired a new director in the form of Peyton Reed who directed such films as Yes Man with Jim Carrey and the Break Up with Vince Vaughn and Jennifer Aniston. He also directed a lot of television work including the live action bookends of the Back To The Future animated series.

The press release unveiled today includes a full cast list but only a few of those have characters names attached. So far it’s been revealed that Paul Rudd is Scott Lang/Ant-Man, that Michael Douglas is Dr Hank Pym, with Evangeline Lilly playing his daughter, Hope Van Dyne.

The rest of the cast reads as follows, Corey Stoll, Bobby Cannavale, Abby Ryder Forston, Michael Pena, Judy Greer, David Dastmalchian, Wood Harris, John Slattery and Gregg Turkington.

A synopsis reveals,

Armed with the astonishing ability to shrink in scale but increase in strength, con-man Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) must embrace his inner-hero and help his mentor, Dr Hank Pym (Michael Douglas), protect the secret behind his spectacular Ant-Man suit from a new generation of towering threats. Against seemingly insurmountable obstacles, Pym and Lang must plan and pull off a heist that will save the world.

Production has started in Atlanta Georgia and here is the first image of Paul Rudd in Marvel’s Ant-Man.
