Ash Returns To Battle The Evil Dead Once Again.

Ash Returns To Battle The Evil Dead Once Again.

The first trailer has been revealed at the San Diego Comic Con for ‘Ash vs The Evil Dead’, a television continuation of the cult ‘Evil Dead’ horror films.

Its been a long time since Ash’s battle with the Evil Dead, 1992 to be exact. If your not familiar with the series of films, it all started with the original ‘Evil Dead film. When a group of young people visit a log cabin in the words where they find an ancient spell book known as the┬áNecronomicon, the book of the dead.

One character, Ash, plays back a recording they find of a professor who was translating the book and unwittingly unleash the forces of darkness. Together the gang must try and fend off the evil and stay alive.

‘Evil Dead II’ is a remake/sequel, which continues the story but this time there is a lot more humour in the mix which I think makes for a better film.

Finally ‘Evil Dead III’ or ‘Army of Darkness’ as it is better known, sees our hero Ash transported back through to medieval times where he must battle the ‘deadites’ as their known, once again. This third film pushes the humour levels up more and tones down on the violence, but it’s still a great sequel.

Ever since the release of ‘Evil Dead III’ fans have been asking for another entry in the series and now the US television network Starz has given them what they want. A new ten episode series will premier on October 31st, Halloween. The first episode has been directed by Sam Raimi (Spider-Man trilogy) who also directed the original three films. And of course, Bruce Campbell returns once again to play our favourite cowardly hero, Ash.
