Black Sails | First Episode Premieres Online

The US television network Starz has placed the first episode of its anticipated pirate drama, Black Sails, online. A full week ahead of its television premiere on the 25th of January.

The show has Michael Bay (Transformers 1-4, Armageddon) attached as an executive producer and it has already been given a second season order based on the overwhelming positive reaction from 2013’s San Diego Comic Con reaction, a full six months before episode one had even aired.

You can watch the first episode in full via YouTube, Amazon, iTunes or Starz own Black Sails website []. Unfortunately this is only available for residents of the US. Everyone else will have to wait for local showings.

The highly anticipated pirate adventure, Black Sails, centers on the tales of Captain Flint and his men and takes place twenty years prior to Robert Louis Stevenson’s classic “Treasure Island.” Flint, the most brilliant and most feared pirate captain of his day, takes on a fast-talking young addition to his crew who goes by the name John Silver. Threatened with extinction on all sides, they fight for the survival of New Providence Island, the most notorious criminal haven of its day – a debauched paradise teeming with pirates, prostitutes, thieves and fortune seekers, a place defined by both its enlightened ideals and its stunning brutality.
