Canada Day | Happy 150th Canada

This Canada Day marks the 150th anniversary of the country.

I fell in love with Canada before I’d even set foot in the country. A visit cemented that passion and prompted an urgent desire to emigrate that has been tempered only when faced with the realities my family would have to overcome in doing so. But I feel at home there. And some day, I’m hoping I’ll call it home, if only for a short while.

And whilst it’s important to remember the plight of the indigenous people of North America who still suffer as a result of European colonisation 150 years on, let’s also take a little time to celebrate Canada and the Canadian’s whose art and creativity I, and our readership, have grown to enjoy so much. Some of whom I’ve been lucky enough to be able to call friends.

Thanks Canada,
