Deadpool star Ryan Reynolds gets meta in the teaser for the trailer which drops tomorrow.
If you’re a regular reader you’ll know that we don’t usually bother with teasers for trailers. They’re usually just short snippets of what you’ll see in the trailer anyway. The creators and star of Deadpool have been playing their hype campaign a little differently though.
In this teaser titled ‘A Message From Deadpool‘, ‘the merc with the mouth’ not only introduces his own movie but takes a hefty, though humorous, jab at the abysmal portrayal of the Marvel character in X-Men Origins, from which Ryan Reynolds reprised his role for this standalone film. It’s not the first time Reynolds has made light of a film in which he played a comic book character. In previously released footage, as Deadpool he’s heard mocking the CGI used for his costume in the often derided DC superhero movie, The Green Lantern.
