Based on the classic book, Disney reveal a teaser for ‘A Wrinkle In Time’ filled with magic, fantasy and science fiction.
Disney have adapted A Wrinkle In Time, a 1963 novel by U.S. author Madeleine L’Engle into an epic big screen science-fiction fantasy.
Starring Oprah Winfrey, Reese Witherspoon, Zach Galifianakis and Chris Pine the story revolves around a troubled student, Meg (Storm Reid), her brother and friend who are sent into space to track down her missing father (Pine). Meanwhile the planet is at risk of consumption by The Black Thing, a darkness controlled by an evil being.
This won’t be the first film adaptation of Madeleine L’Engle’s novel as a television film was produced by a collaboration of Canadian production companies and released in 2003. Distributed by Disney in the United States the film received harsh criticism from the author.
In an interview with Newsweek, when L’Engle was asked if the film “met her expectations”, she said, “Yes, I expected it to be bad, and it is.” [wikipedia]
A Wrinkle In Time is expected to arrive in cinemas in North America from the 9th of March 2018 and a little later in the U.K. with a release date set for the 23rd of the same month.
