Donald Glover Lands The Young Lando Gig In Han Solo Standalone Movie

And the internet fistpumped and said, YES! Donald Glover is on the rise having bagged the role of a young Lando Calrissian.

The actor who became beloved for his role as Troy in the comedy series ‘Community’ has openly been putting himself out there to play the Mile Morales version of Spider-Man for the longest time. On that front he’s landed a role in the latest Spidey movie, ‘Homecoming’.

Now the news has broken that Glover will star as Lando Calrissian in the Star Wars Han Solo standalone movie. The character was originally played by Billy Dee Williams in ‘The Empire Strikes Back’, a schemer intent on making fast money who changed his ways by joining the rebel alliance in the fight against the Empire.

With Glover joining Alden Ehrenreich who will play Han Solo fans can only speculate that we’ll finally find out how Solo won the Millennium Falcon from Calrissian.

The film’s directors Phil Lord and Christopher Miller stated on starwars.com “We’re so lucky to have an artist as talented as Donald join us,” and “These are big shoes to fill, and an even bigger cape, and this one fits him perfectly, which will save us money on alterations. Also, we’d like to publicly apologize to Donald for ruining Comic-Con for him forever.”.

Donald Glover is not only a talented actor currently starring in ‘Atlanta’ but also enjoys a successful music career going by the rap name Childish Gambino.
