Doug Funnie | Metal Gear Solid: The Mixtape 2

Two years after his first Metal Gear Solid Mixtape Doug Funny has unveiled his follow up titled… wait for it… The Mixtape 2!

Presenting a modest six tracks, including the intro, Doug Funnie has drawn on some great talents to secure beats from Kyle Murdock, DJ Supersonic, 2 Mello and DJ RoboRob, most of which will be familiar with the Nerdcore faithful. I can’t claim to be a Metal Gear Solid aficionado (I played on the first game on PlayStation back in the day) but I found plenty to enjoy in this release. I can only assume that those better versed in the popular franchise will benefit far more from the references in the lyrics. Funnie as a vocalist has improved phenomenally since my first exposure to his music, his Head in the Cloudz release in 2012. Beats on The Mixtape 2 vary in style but maintain a common feel throughout.

The Metal Gear Solid: Mixtape 2 is available to download now as a name your price release on bandcamp now.
