‘Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them’ reignited our imagination for J.K Rowling’s wizarding world last year, now get a first look at the sequel.
Eddie Redmayne returns as the bumbling but very likable Newt Scamander as his adventures in the magical underworld take him to a new location. Familiar faces join him in this sequel, the title for which has been revealed as ‘Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald’.
Johnny Depp will play the titular baddie Grindelwald, whilst Jude Law cuts a dashing young Albus Dumbledore donning rather less familiar attire to that which we’re used to from the master wizard.
Dumbledore is set to team up with his former pupil, Newt Scamander, to ward off Grindelwald’s plot to enslave all Muggles and No-Majs.
Meanwhile the film will introduce Newt’s brother Theseus Scamander to be played by Callum Turner. Speculation being that Theseus is the reason Newt lost out in love with Leta Lestrange (Zoe Kravitz), a part of Newt’s backstory explored in Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.
Images showing the film’s titles and the collected cast have been released. Hopefully we’ll get to enjoy a teaser trailer in the near future too, though ‘Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald’ isn’t scheduled to debut in cinemas until November 16th 2018.
