First Trailer For Strange Magic

First Trailer For Strange Magic

George Lucas provides a story based on Shakespeare’s A Midsummer’s Night Dream in a new animated feature entitled Strange Magic.

Disney surprised us all by not only announcing this film just over a week ago but the fact it’s due to be released in January next year! It’s a bit worrying that a film no one has heard of is getting rushed out like this.

Although the story has come from an idea by George Lucas, the film has been directed by Gary Rydstrom whose previous work includes the Pixar shorts Toy Story Toons: Hawaiian Vacation and Lifted.

The animation has been created at Lucasfilm Animation Singapore and Industrial Light & Magic whose last animated feature was Rango.

Strange Magic is set to open in the US on January 23rd and in the UK on February 11th.

“Strange Magic” is a madcap fairy tale musical inspired by “A Midsummer Night’s Dream.” Popular songs from the past six decades help tell the tale of a colorful cast of goblins, elves, fairies and imps, and their hilarious misadventures sparked by the battle over a powerful potion.
