Whilst we were on our Christmas break a second trailer dropped for Deadpool. Delve into the origin story of the ‘merc with the mouth’.
The smart talking superhero returns with a second trailer which dropped on Christmas Day. You’ve probably all seen it by now but, just in case, feast your eyes on the latest peek at the new movie below. I’m still very nervous about this film for one big reason. As part of the X-Men franchise, Deadpool, as a character, is licensed from Marvel to 20th Century Fox, and we’ve seen what kind of horrifying garbage they can produce in their Superhero movies: Fantastic Four, Elektra, Daredevil, most of the X-Men franchise. And I’ll never forgive their portrayal of the Silver Surfer! Indeed, we saw how the studio portrayed Deadpool in X-Men: Origins!
Ryan Reynolds reprises his role in this R rated (15 or 18 certificate in the UK) stand-alone movie for the ‘Merc with the Mouth‘. The positives are that the trailers to this point appear to be keeping faithful to the comic book portrayal of Deadpool, starting, importantly, with the trademark costume and continuing through the graphic violence and smart-ass remarks.
Deadpool could be a breakthrough movie for 20th Century Fox. Fingers crossed. To keep up with all things Deadpool head on over to deadpoolcore.com and join the mailing list. The movie hits cinemas in February 2016.
