Incoming! Trading And Social Aspect Comes To Pokémon GO

It’s been a long time coming but Pokémon GO trainers will soon be able to trade monsters and gifts.

Pokémon GO creators Niantic have announced that as of this week they will be rolling out a friends function in the popular AR game.

By exchanging Trainer Codes players will be able to populate a friends list to whom they can send gifts. Special gifts can be collected from Pokéstops and Gyms by spinning the discs in the usual way. You won’t be able to open the gift but you will be able to send it to someone on your friends list who will receive a postcard telling them where it was collected.

Gifts will also include a special bonus. An egg that when hatched will reveal an Alolan form of a Pokémon originally found in the Kanto region.

Pokémon GO Trading

The new feature also wants to reward trainers for IRL interactions. The more you battle together the greater your Friendship Level will grow unlocking special bonuses. Once you reach Friendship Level 10 with a certain trainer on your list, you’ll be able to start trading Pokémon.

There are some rules to trading regarding Legendary and Shiny Pokémon. Get the full downlow over at Pokémon GO Live.
