Is Peter Serafinowicz The New Tick?

Word on the net is that Amazon’s new live action series of The Tick has found its lead actor, and word is it’s Peter Serafinowicz.

The tickAmazon have already announced that there’s a live action reboot of Fox’s comedy series The Tick. Nerdist is reporting that the new incarnation of the show is not only to be directed by Wally Pfister, but also that the show will star British deadpan comic and actor Peter Serafinowicz.

Serafinowicz enjoyed a small but notable role in Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy as Denarian Saal as well as being involved with a number of fan favourite pop-culture shows like Adventure Time, Parks and Recreation and Doctor Who. Not to mention his fantastic performance in Shaun of the Dead alongside Simon Pegg.

The role was previously played by Patrick Warburton between 2001 and 2002 and many fans felt Warburton should reprise his role following the announcement of The Tick reboot. However, news of Serafinowicz’s casting as the titular character should see most die hard followers of the show getting behind the reboot.

There’s no official synopsis at this point but the basic premise finds The Tick recovering from a case of memory loss.
