The LEGO Kessel Run Millennium Falcon – Officially Revealed

We’ve been seeing leaks of the Kessel Run Millennium Falcon for a while, here it is in all it’s official LEGO glory.

It doesn’t take a genius to realise that the infamous Kessel Run will feature prominently in Solo: A Star Wars Story which heads to cinemas on May 25th.

This set, with the official box title ‘LEGO Kessel Run Millennium Falcon’ leaked a while back and not only revealed the significant plot-point, but also gave us our first look at the Falcon before she was considered ‘a hunk of junk’.

Most notably there’s been a lot of hype surrounding the area between the front “mandibles” which is filled with an extra part (Likely a modular cargo compartment) to the ship giving a far more streamlined effect. This detail has divided fans, many of whom feel that it is not in keeping with existing Star Wars canon and previously published designs for a ‘YT1300 light freighter’, which the Falcon is.

It’s hardly LEGO’s fault, they’re merely replicating the design from the movie, but… if you look closely, it looks very much as if that whole section can be removed from the front of the ship to reveal a more familiar looking Millennium Falcon.

Other differences include a different engine design, a single forward facing gun turret, blue trim and a sleeker overall aesthetic.

The LEGO Kessel Run Millennium Falcon is set 75212 and will be released in April this year ahead of the release of Solo: A Star Wars Story.
