Lifetime Batman fan, oh! and Hollywood film writer and directer, Kevin Smith is to voice a much slimmer Lego version of himself in the third Lego Batman game.
Amongst other additions to the latest installment of the Lego Batman series, Lego Batman 3: Beyond Gotham, Hollywood writer and director Kevin Smith is to feature as himself. A self confessed Batman fanboy, (he hosts a regular podcast dedicated to the dark knight titled Fatman On Batman) Smith has paid homage to the superhero in his films over the years, from Mallrats – “Fly fatass, fly!” to Jay & Silent Bob Strikes Back where Mark Hamill seemingly, willingly humiliated himself playing the character Cock-Knocker, arch nemesis of Bluntman & Chronic.
He’s no stranger to the comics world either. He’s penned stories for both Marvel and DC characters, not least his Batman titles The Widening Gyre and Cacophony. So it seems only appropriate that Smith should get a cameo in the game. Besides, he’s a great advertisement for any project he’s involved with, he shares virtually every aspect of his life with his enormous fanbase weekly across his many podcasts and live shows.
Kevin Smith will be appearing at the New York City Comicon on the LEGO Batman panel on October 11th where he will no doubt talk at length about his involvement in the game.
