Marvel Unleash Phase Three!

Marvel Unleash Phase Three!

Marvel Studios officially launched their next phase with the movies we can look forward to between now and May 2019.

At  the El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige today unveiled the comic book movie giant’s line up for the next five years.

Captain America: Civil War – May 6th 2016

Chris Evans will once again reprise his role as Captain America alongside Robert Downey Jr as Iron Man for the highly anticipated Civil War story. This movie will see the introduction of Chadwick Boseman as Black Panther.

Doctor Strange – November 4th 2016

The lead role for Doctor Strange has yet to be revealed with rumours surrounding Benedict Cumberbatch and Joachim Pheonix to take up the lead role. Feige announced “Doctor Stephen Strange, brilliant neurosurgeon, bit of an arrogant fellow who gets in a car accident and ruins what he thinks are the tools of his trade: his hands”

Guardians Of The Galaxy 2 – May 5th 2017

The Guardians will be back on screen sooner than expected in May 2017, though there are no firm details surrounding the film and no official title yet.

Thor: Ragnarok – July 28th 2017

Chris Hemsworth returns as the God of Thunder as Thor is taken to the next level in a story that will follow on directly from Avengers: Age of Ultron in July 2017.

Black Panther – November 3rd 2017

Making his debut as Black Panther in Captain America: Civil War, Chadwick Boseman will return in a solo movie. Feige teased “Something I already showed you today contains an Easter egg that leads directly into ‘Black Panther.’ He’s a bit of a prince, he may even become a bit of a king, but it’s all about how this isolationist country meets the world. Maybe it goes well, maybe it doesn’t.”

Captain Marvel – July 6th 2018

I’m super excited for this one as a fan of the current comic series. Carol Danvers will become the first female superhero in a stand alone movie from Marvel which could see a tie-in in some respect with The Guardians Of The Galaxy.

Inhumans – November 3rd 2018

With little solid information this far out Feige wanted to assert Marvel’s belief in bringing Inhumans to the big screen. “We really do believe the Inhumans can be a franchise or a series of franchise unto themselves. They have dozens of powers and an amazing social structure. With our 20th movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, we wanted to continue to refine what that universe is about.”

Avengers: Infinity War – May 2018 & May 2019

As with Phase 1 and 2, Phase 3 will round off with and Avengers two parter. Earth mightiest heroes will go head to head with the power of Thanos in this epic double bill.

Which movie are you most excited for from Marvel’s third phase in the cinematic universe? For me it’s Captain Marvel but with so much to look forward to it’s hard not to be excited for all of the titles. Get the full scoop over at
