MC Router To Appear On Dr Phil

MC Router To Appear On Dr Phil

Former Nerdcore bad-girl turned muslim will appear on U.S. show Dr Phil next week.

Many have wondered what happened to Nerdcore’s rude girl rapper MC Router over the years. Those inquisitive minds may gain an insight into her life since moving out the nerd rap scene as Router will appear on U.S. chat show Dr Phil next week.

Router often caught flack for her outspoken and unapologetic approach to life but seems to have turned to religion choosing to become Muslim. On the show Router is set to face her mother for the first time in a year which uses the tagline “I’m Worried My Daughter May Turn into a Terrorist”. As small-minded and offensive as that notion is and how critical I am of the validity of these types of voyeuristic show we may at least gain an insight into where Router’s been and where she’s at right now. Love her or loathe her, she certainly is an interesting character.

It’s interesting how Nerdcore (a genre composed almost solely of the socially inept and ostracized) can be just about as intolerant and gossipy as the bigots that were commenting on the Dr. Phil facebook page on this episode. I hope folks never question why the top tier artists who make a living of Nerdcore don’t hang out on the forums or facebook pages or blogs that surround this genre, because the answer is in the treatment of Abby here.

Rather than a flood of comments where people decided to just be happy and supportive that she’s found something that’s made her happy and productive (a fact you can probably verify better than most if you actually knew her back in the day,) everyone’s busily playing armchair quarterback and assuming it’s 2008 not 2014. “It’s a ploy, it’s a conspiracy, etc.” Grow up and get with it. At the very least, put yourself in her shoes and ask whether you’d rather receive skepticism or support. Seriously, people can change and grow up, and that path, especially for most 2nd artists, has been just as winding for everyone in the second generation of Nerdcore; Abby’s not the exemption, she’s the rule. I understand why her detractors might be skeptical, but at this point if there’s is any emotional arrested development, I see it more from her detractors.

It’s like when people still ask me if Abby and Hella have beef, even though that beef was dead and buried before the documentaries were even finished, and in fact one of the only people Abby bothered to keep in contact with after getting into Islam was Hella. Time passes, people with any sense of drive change.

That said, a ton of people, including myself, Hella and YTCracker are happy for Abby, and wish her the best on her journey. Other folks like Chozo think that at the very least people shouldn’t be harassing her over this. The behind scenes chatter on this is much supportive than a lot of people would like to admit. Maybe if more of the scene focused on that kind of positivity, we’d have greater success as a community of creators. A community of bitter detractors gets nowhere.

Snakepit as in anything I saw on your podcast will only breed about more hatred and disrespect from the Nerdcore community because they all hate me. So it is pretty much asking for me to have a whole new shitstorm of ignorant Nerdcore people talking shit about as they always have. I mean I havent even been interacting with the nerdcore scene for what, 3 years now? and they all still talk about me 🙂

Also, all of those comments you posted and all the others, are all based on who i was 3 or more years ago and how i behaved THEN and not currently. People can change and in the past 2 years I have changed I don’t sleep around, I don’t drink, I don’t party, I just work, finishing up my degrees and spend time with my hobbies. So how are you going to say that these peoples comments about my personality and who I am, is valid or some sort of proof as to my character since I have converted to Islam 2 years ago? none of those people have seen me or talked to me in at least 3 years so they have no idea so their commenting, again…on my behavior years ago that isn’t accurate with who I am currently. Maybe if you were an unbiased intellect, you would take THAT into consideration.

Niik person is a liar because I never said that, believe him or me, I don’t care but that is the truth.

Beefy hasnt talked to me in liek 3 years or more now, so he doesn’t know anything about how I have lived my life the past 2 years as a Muslim and neither does the rest of those except Dan.

Also, maybe I did a lot of things I am not proud of when I was MC Router and before I was a Muslim, I can swallow my pride and admit that…there were a lot of things I regretted like sleeping around and drinking and being out of control and fighting with everyone, but none of those people (cept dan) have seen me in person or talked to me after I have converted and some not even way before that. So they don’t know how I have changed or the lifestyle I live now. So if THAT is what you want to base you “facts” and “judgements” from, then go ahead, but unluckily for you it’s not valid or accurate in regards to the last 2 years after I converted. 🙂

Well it’s a good thing how easily you lie to everyone, now you’ve proven my point.

Dan Lamoureux Epilogue: Router sent me a fb message and said “please tell nerdcore people to stop sending me friend requests.

Niik LampedGod router pmed me this morning she said she changed her mind and to send her friend requests

Keith A. Moore I think I know router well enough to say that she only got into Islam because some Islam got into her. Lot like the Dutch and them Dutch boys

Keith A. Moore Look at the comments and the fact she was on a show. People seem to care. I don’t give a shit what she’s into either way. If she got way into larping it would be because a group of guys said she would be the greatest larper ever. Then she’d call herself the queen of larping and all others females who got into larping after her are just biting her style, on purpose, and are rightful victims of her rage. She isn’t her own person. She does nothing on her own. Not music. Not entertainment. Beer maybe. The why is always the way more interesting part. We just already know the story cause it’s router and she does the same router shit over and over and over.

Rollin Frank My story, in short involves a internet fan boy just getting started into nerdcore, getting flirty via the Internet with router, then going to Texas to see her for the first time, while also performing down there. Then when I got back home she was super clingy, got jealous of any girl who said anything on my MySpace or facebook. (MySpace was just dying out at the time). And kept claiming she loved me and I was breaking her heart.

Literally just a few of the most recent posts in a thread of almost 300 comments of tons of people talking about all of this in a Nerdcore group.

It’s hard for me to ‘take your word for it’ Sorry.

LOL okay. No one in Nerdcore has contacted me in years and the ones that have, have either apologized for the rudeness of others on their own behalf or tried to add me as a friend on FB.

Whatever fantasy world you live in is great, but you don’t know me personally, you don’t know my intentions and my current lifestyle and that is sad for you because all these assumptions and statements you are making are not FACT, they are just assumptions, and it makes you look ignorant, especially to those who have known me in real life in the past 2 years since I have become a Muslim. Sad for you.

I… Clearly never said I hated your music. I said I didn’t desire to listen to it. As in, it wasn’t my cup of tea. Lol. You seem to be very obsessed with the idea that I’m a hater, when I stated a few times I’m simply a neutral observer making an observation. And ‘Getting tons of support on your facebook’ is pretty obviously going to happen when you, you know, add ‘fans’ to your facebook.

When you go anywhere else, on the other hand…

And making honest observations isn’t negativity. I’m not your mother, I don’t care what life choices you do or don’t make. It just simply comes down to your own past actions being weighed against your current actions. Anybody who talks about you in the Nerdcore world today always talks about how much drama you start, and how much you crave attention, or cling to certain fads at certain times. If you’re truly past all of that, I’m honestly happy for you, and proud that you overcame all of it.

However, the fact that you’re more concerned about arguing with people on the Internet about the truth in your actions, rather than believing in yourself and devoting yourself to spreading the word of Allah and Islam, as is one of the key foundations of your religion, kind of just makes me continue to veer towards the fact that it’s a publicity stunt.

But honestly, stop thinking you’re important enough for me to be your ‘hater.’ because that’s extremely arrogant. Almost as arrogant as going on Dr. Phil and claiming you’ve ‘Done everything there is to do.’

Oh and I didn’t just convert to Islam, I have been Muslim for 2 years now, it’s not going anywhere, sorry to disappoint you brother 🙂 And just for all the hate you say is “spewing” about me, Check my FB, I have a lot of support and encouragement from hundreds of the non haters and other Muslims and other reverts and my friends and people who know me IRL. I don’t know if you are familiar with the internet but on any subject about anything, 1/3 of the internet is gonna spew hate, another is going to support, and another is not going to read at all and another aren’t going to have a care either way…that’s how it works, but you are a hateful negative little person and so you only focus on negative, hateful things 🙂

Haha, I’d be a hater if you had anything for me to be jealous about.

And maybe you aren’t using your religion for anything. But as it stands, you went from ‘I’m somewhat popular’ to ‘nobody cares about me’ and now suddenly, you’ve put yourself back into the clutches of ‘pseudo fame’ by making the most drastic change you could possibly make, and then go onto ‘Dr. Phil’ of all places, and now everyone is talking about you. Plus, you go on articles about yourself to ‘Sarcastically’ talk about your past, which is obviously something shunned by your current religious choice, yet sign your post with ‘Love me or Loath me’ Which states you still desire attention, and end it with ‘Abby, MC Router, Kristin, WHATEVER’ Which, instead of embracing who you are now 100%, and dropping your ‘MC Router past’ as you said on the show in question, you are making sure people KNOW exactly who you are. I’m the kind of person who doesn’t just go around ‘hating’ random people, but rather, gathering the facts presented to me, and making logical assessments of the situation.

Do I have any reason to care about you, or make these assessments, or your choices in religion and life in general?

No. Because I never desired to listen to your music, even when you were ‘big’ in nerdcore, nor did I care about the fact that you’re one of the biggest names in Nerdcore Drama. However, you’ve been constantly shoved down my throat ever since this thing started, so naturally I can’t help but want to see the truth in the situation. There are literally pages of people in everything from Dr. Phil’s forums, nerdcore outlets, third party sites, and everything inbetween already spewing hate about you, so please don’t mistake my thoughts as one of them. I simply have a firm belief that by this time next year, or maybe even sooner, we’re going to be hearing a lot more about you. On the other hand, you’ll prove me wrong, this won’t be yet another famous ‘Router stunt for attention’ and I’ll admit I made a mistake in my evaluation.

Until then, I simply don’t buy it. You spoke about modesty, yet you’re making it a point to make sure everyone is talking about you and ‘knows the facts’ about the matter. Whole situation just seems off to me.
