Meri Amber | Pop Goes The Tardis

Aussie purveyor of geek pop Meri Amber pays tribute to Doctor Who in her latest release, Pop Goes The Tardis.

The last time I wrote about Meri Amber I was impressed by her ability to write catchy, upbeat pop songs but far from convinced by her self proclaimed geek-cred whilst reviewing her Super EP. It’s time to rethink that opinion as the antipodean singer/songwriter’s latest release focuses solely on everyone’s favourite time lord, Doctor Who.

Subsequent to an impressive acapella introduction, you’ll find Amber’s trademark brand of synth-pop, clever wordplay, coming of age observations and carefully harmonised vocals. Always positive in tone and often tinged with subtle humour you’ll find a couple of well known pop anthem parodies that fit perfectly into the 44 minute, sugar-sweet experience.
