It was a blow when Marvel shut down Mike Pecci’s Punisher fan film a little over a year ago, but he’s back after a near death experience with his latest project titled 12 Kilometers.
Indie film maker and photographer Mike Pecci hasn’t been deterred by Marvel’s unprecedented move to block the release of his fan film The Dead Can’t Be Distracted inspired by the Greg Rucka run of The Punisher comics. No reason has ever been given by the Disney owned giant, however, the title of that project proves to be almost prophetic as Mike faced his own near fatal accident involving ice skates, a fractured skull, and a hematoma.
In Mike’s own words:
Yes it was a dumb move on my part to go ice skating for the first time at 35, but the good news is that I was forced to take some time off! During the slow recovery, I was haunted by nightmares and hallucinations that inspired me to write out a new idea. Not just any idea, but THE IDEA! Now the my health is back to 100%, I’m setting a plan in motion that will expose this story to the world. My new film is 12 Kilometers!
The film is set against a backdrop of 1980s Russia, a drill team will dig the deepest hole known to man. Dredged from this abyss is an entity that will bring them face to face with their most terrifying fears. What will rise from the ancient depths is a force the likes of which they’ve never seen!
Mike is funding most of the project himself and using much of the team that helped to create The Dead Can’t Be Distracted, but he needs a final push to make this ambitious project a success.
