Netflix Pushes The Blade Runner Vibe With Altered Carbon

An ex-soldier is brought back to life 250 years after his death to solve a murder.

Over the years Netflix’s productions have become bigger and better and their latest sci-fi offering looks to continue that trend.

Reportedly their most expensive show to date, Altered Carbon is a story set in the future where humanity can digitise themselves and be placed into new bodies. This form of eternal life is only available for societies richest people.

Takeshi Kovacs, formerly a deceased soldier, is brought back to life in order to solve the murder of Laurens Bancroft, the very man who has resurrected him.

Altered Carbon has been based on the book by Richard K. Morgan and from the look of this trailer certainly has a strong Blade Runner vibe, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing.

As with most Netflix shows, the entire first season will be available to stream on February 2nd.
