New Batman…New Lego

Ben Affleck is the new Bruce Wayne and his alter ego Batman, in one of the biggest films to be released next year. That film is ‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice’ and LEGO have already teased a new set based upon that movie.

I have a love/hate relationship with LEGO. I’ve loved it ever since I received my first sets as a child, one of which incidentally was the 671 – Shell Petrol Tanker. Now as an older nerd, LEGO has brilliant licensing deals in place to create brilliant sets that i could only dream of as a child. Okay, okay, sets such as the Batman Tumbler and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Helicarrier didn’t exist when I was a boy but its awesome stuff.

My hate for LEGO only exists because I cannot afford to buy all these brilliant builds that are now available and now another has been added to the list.

Even though ‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice’ isn’t released until 2016, LEGO is showcasing the first official set at this years San Diego Comic Con and The Wall Street Journal has revealed the first picture and it’s based on the latest iteration of the Batmobile.

And for comparison, here’s the real thing.

The full set will also include another vehicle and two more unamed characters. Although Comic Con visitors will be able to view the set they won’t be able to purchase. The full set will go on sale on January 1st 2016 for $29.99.
