Daredevil Season 2 starts today so you might want to call in a sickie, stock up on snacks, lock the doors, hide your phone and binge.
If we learned anything from the premiere of Daredevil season one, it’s that by the time you finish work half the world has watched every episode in one hit and spoiled the shit out of it on twitter. So it’s time to prepare and make your plan.
If, like me, you depend on your day job for money to pay your mortgage, feed your kids and put petrol in the car – and can’t risk the possibility of divorce when you partner finds out you pulled an unpaid sickie – you might want to avoid social media. Binge watchers love nothing better than sharing spoilers on facebook and twitter to demonstrate their superior dedication to fandom. If you don’t want to stumble across those pinnacle moments from the series before watching – stay away.
Going cold turkey on social media can be a daunting prospect, I hear you. Fear not, there is another option, but you’re putting your trust in tech for this one. Apps, like Spoiler Shield, claim to be able to block spoilers for your chosen TV shows from facebook and twitter.
What Time Does It Drop?
The definitive answer to this is 12.01 PDT on the 18th March. Sounds simple right? Sure is, if you’re in that time zone. For those of us in other parts of the world, prepare to scratch your head with this really unhelpful graphic found on the Daredevil facebook page.
Seriously. Perhaps I’m thick? So if you can figure out how this is helpful, please let me know in the comments. As far as I can work out Daredevil season two should be available in the UK from 7:01am GMT since that’s the actual time difference between GMT and PDT.
If you’re one of the binge watchers you’re going to need to stock up on supplies. My natural instinct is to advise a healthy selection of fruit to graze on, easily prepared nutritious snacks and plenty of water to fend off fatigue . In reality you’re probably going to grab a few cans of Pringles, chocolate, popcorn and then order a pizza. All this washed down with plenty of coffee to fend off fatigue.
Whichever side of the diet you fall onto you need to know that there are thirteen episodes running at around 54 minutes each. Take into consideration kettle boiling time and pee breaks and you’re rounding up to an hour per episode. That’s literally over half a day you’re going to be sat watching TV. Stock up.
We’re looking forward to Daredevil season two given how fantastic the first season was. We’re especially hyped to see The Punisher debut in this one too. So before you dive in, enjoy the final trailer one more time.
Marvel’s Daredevil Season 2 launches exclusively on Netflix today.
