Prospect recreates the wild west in the far future

A girl is forced to grow up when her father is murdered whilst prospecting for valuable resin on a toxic planet.

Prospect is a four-year labour of love for Zeek Earl and Chris Caldwell. In 2013 they started a Kickstarter campaign to create a short film called Prospect.

The story was inspired by the gold rush of the old wild west and they wanted to create a film with texture, everything was to be practical with no digital effects.

They were successful and raised more money than was asked for enabling them to create a twelve-minute short film which is available to view on Vimeo.

The film has been remade into a full-length feature and debuted at this years SXSW Film Festival in March, whereupon it won the Adam Yauch Hörnblowér Award.

Unfortunately, despite this second trailer informing of a November release date, IMDb lists nothing at the moment. The next showing will be at the San Diego International Film Festival on the 12th of October.

We’ll keep you posted of any further news.
