Sammus | Mighty Morphing | Video

With the second single from her new EP Sammus drops a video for the track Mighty Morphing.

In the video for Mighty Morphing the artist unashamedly draws inspiration for the visuals from Alanis Morissette’s 1995 hit track, Ironic. The songs and video are a statement identifying the many ways the artist defies cultural assumptions.

“Over twenty years after the release of Morissette’s “Ironic,” the lyrical and visual content of “Mighty Morphing” are fitting for an artist who has regularly discussed her early rock influences — and more broadly, one who seeks to earn her place in the annals of feminist music history alongside notable women performers and artists like Morissette.”

Infusion is available to buy now on CD, limited edition Cassette and as a digital download. Head over to bandcamp for all the deets.

About Sammus – Sammus is an upstate New York-based rap artist and producer. Her production is characterized by her use of uniquely chopped samples, and video game-like synths that are often contrasted with dirtier bass lines. She has been called a “20-credit” rapper because of her smart lyrics, diverse subject matter and versatile flow. As her Metroid-inspired name reflects, it is her hope that listeners and future fans will be pleasantly surprised by the contrast between the person society says she should be as an artist and who she actually is.
