Star Trek Beyond | Watch The Final Trailer And Welcome To The Kelvin Timeline

We’re edging closer to the release into cinemas of the latest in the rebooted Star Trek cinematic adventure, here’s the final trailer.

Since the first film in the revitalised Star Trek movie series hit the big screen in 2009 fans have struggled with how to ‘name’ the modern vision of James T. Kirk and crew, rebooted by writer/director JJ Abrams. Finally in star date 2016 we have a name for the alternate timeline the Enterprise is on. CBS have revealed that the rebooted movie universe is to be called… ‘The Kelvin Timeline’.

Initially the name may seem a little, underwhelming? However, the name is taken from the first ship destroyed in that 2009 Star Trek movie. The U.S.S. Kelvin, in the film, was captained by Kirk’s father who sacrificed himself for the greater good. Call me sentimental, but I quite like the name.

U.S.S. Kelvin

So, now that we have this information under our belt, join the crew of the U.S.S. Enterprise in their latest cinematic adventure along the Kelvin timeline. The Enterprise is on a five year mission to explore uncharted space when they come across a terrifying alien threat.

Star Trek Beyond blasts onto cinema screens in the U.K. and U.S. from July 22nd. Other regions may differ, head over to IMDB for more release information.

Star Trek Beyond synopsis | The USS Enterprise crew explores the furthest reaches of uncharted space, where they encounter a mysterious new enemy who puts them and everything the Federation stands for to the test.
