“This will be a day long remembered!”, said Darth Vader in the original Star Wars and to some fans it will be as Disney finally end months of speculation and reveal the cast for the next film in the saga.
In a short but sweet press announcement over at The Official Star Wars site, it has been revealed that the original cast are indeed returning. They are of course, Harrison Ford (Han Solo), Carrie Fisher (Leia Organa), Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker), Anthony Daniels (C3-PO), Peter Mayhew (Chewbacca), and Kenny Baker (RD-D2).
They will be joined by newcomers John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, and Max von Sydow.
Andy Serkis…interesting, will he be playing as an actor or via motion capture?
The director J.J. Abrams said, “We are so excited to finally share the cast of Star Wars: Episode VII. It is both thrilling and surreal to watch the beloved original cast and these brilliant new performers come together to bring this world to life, once again. We start shooting in a couple of weeks, and everyone is doing their best to make the fans proud.”
Believe me J.J., the fans are going to be watching your every move very closely!

The cast for Star Wars Episode VII sit down for a script reading.
The as yet untitled Star Wars: Episode VII will open worldwide December 18th 2015.
