Stranger Things Season 3 Gets A Suitably Strange Teaser

Stranger Things Season 3 Gets A Suitably Strange Teaser

It looks like the small town of Hawkins is getting it’s first mall. This Stranger Things season 3 teaser is peak eighties.

On the surface this teaser for the third season of the wildly popular Netflix original, ‘Stranger Things’, has little to do with the show at all.

This reproduction television advertisement for the fictional ‘Starcourt Mall’ in Hawkins, Indiana shows off popular retail brands from the mid-eighties and kids enjoying their time at the mall.

“Coming to Hawkins in the Summer of 1985…the Starcourt Mall! Starcourt Mall will be one of the finest shopping facilities in America and beyond with options for the entire family. Including The Gap, Waldenbooks, Sam Goody, Claire’s and more! Don’t forget to cool off at Scoops Ahoy Ice Cream shop. Starcourt Mall has it all!”

The most obvious link to ‘Stranger Things’ is the appearance of season two favourite Steve (Joe Keery) and new character Robin (Maya Hawke) who appear as sales assistants at Scoops Ahoy Ice Cream parlour.

There’s no release date set for the third season of Stranger Things, but given that the teaser announces the opening of Starcourt Mall “next summer”, fans may have another year to wait.

About Stranger Things | In a small town where everyone knows everyone, a peculiar incident starts a chain of events that leads to the disappearance of a child – which begins to tear at the fabric of an otherwise peaceful community. Dark government agencies and seemingly malevolent supernatural forces converge on the town while a few locals begin to understand that there’s more going on than meets the eye.
