Superbowl 2015 | The Movie Trailers

Superbowl 2015 | The Movie Trailers

Its February! It’s the Superbowl! Some athletes run around and fight over a funny shaped ball! It’s also our chance to see footage from some of 2015’s upcoming big budget film releases.

Some of the movie studios jumped the gun and released their trailers early. The first is for Universal’s Minions. A spin off from their highly successful Despicable Me franchise.

Title: Minions | Release Date US: 10th July | UK: 26th June

Next up is Terminator Genisys. This short thirty second spot features heavy on the action with a dash of new footage not seen in the recently released first trailer. Still not convinced about that bus flip!

Title: Terminator Genisys | Release Date US: 3rd July | UK: 3rd July

Divergent I admittedly know nothing about but it seems like a film, although based upon a novel, that is designed to capture the “Hunger Games” market. Divergent’s sequel ‘Insurgent’ is released later this year. MTV broke the pre-game trailer in the week before the game. Here is the trailer for ‘The Divergent Series: Insurgent’.

Title: The Divergent Series: Insurgent | Release Date US: 20th March | UK: 20th March

Marvel used the Superbowl to remind everyone that Avengers: Age of Ultron will soon be upon us. Unfortunately this new thirty second spot doesn’t seem to feature any new footage and looks like a quick recut of the previous two full length trailers.

Title: Marvel’s Avengers: Age of Ultron | Release Date US: 1st May | UK: 24th April

Kingsman: The Secret Service opened in the UK just last weekend, but America has to wait that little bit longer. To hold you over here’s the Superbowl spot.

Title: Kingsman: The Secret Service | Release Date US: 13th February | UK: Out now

Here’s one for the ladies, its the trailer for Fifty Shades of Grey. I’ll be honest and say that I’m not at all interested in this but I find it rather sad that they use a tagline about how many trailer views they’ve had. Surely everyone knows about this book by now!

Title: Fifty Shades of Grey | Release Date US: 13th February | UK: 13th February

Despite just releasing a new trailer within the last week, Ted 2 made an appearance with a short trailer focusing all around once scene.

Title: Ted 2 | Release Date US: 26th June | UK: 10th July

Inside Out, this years Pixar film based around the idea that emotions are little people who run you from an office like environment inside your head. I’m hoping this was a specially made trailer as I found it rather poor, Pixar I expected better.

Title: Inside Out | Release Date US: 19th June | UK: 24th July

Pitch perfect, a film about a college a capella singing group trying to win a national competition return this year with a sequel.

Title: Pitch Perfect 2 | Release Date US: 15th May | UK: 15th May

Vin Diesel, Dwayne Johnson and the late Paul Walker in his final film return for the franchise that cannot be stopped or apparently, care about physics. Here is the outrageous trailer for Fast And The Furious 7.

Title: Furious 7 | Release Date US: 3rd April | UK: 3rd April

This is the trailer I was really looking forward to seeing, a new teaser for Jurassic World. Whilst I liked what I saw, I’m not so sure about trainable velociraptors.

Title: Jurassic World | Release Date US: 12th June | UK: 12th June

From director Brad Bird (Iron Giant, The Incredibles) comes this fantasy tale that we don’t know much about. Disney are being quite secretive on this one. Everything I’ve seen so far has me hooked though.

Title: Tomorrowland | Release Date US: 22nd May | UK: 22nd May

Seventh Son is the story of Thomas Ward, a boy who becomes an apprentice to a great magician. This film has been a long time coming with its original release date being early 2013! Whilst it does look good, I’m worried it might be all style and no substance.

Title: Seventh Son | Release Date US: 6th February | UK: 27th March

Spongebob Square pants hits the big screen again in his second theatrical outing. He also leaves the sea for the first time to explore our world in this live action / CGI crossover movie.

Title: SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water | Release Date US: 6th February | UK: 27th March

New comedy Unfinished Business makes its first appearance with this short trailer. Vince Vaughn plays a boss who takes two colleagues on a business trip to Europe to close the biggest deal of their lives. I expect you can guess that its not going to go to plan.

Title: Unfinished Business | Release Date US: 6th March | UK: 6th March

And finally, Hot Tub Time Machine 2 also made an appearance with this very brief teaser.

Title: Hot Tub Time Machine 2 | Release Date US: 20th February | UK: 10th April

So that rounds up all the movie related trailers from the 2015 Superbowl event. Anything you liked? What disappointed you? Didn’t care for any of it? Lets us know!
