Swamp Thing – Datsun | Video

Toronto’s perennial favourites, Swamp Thing, make their presence felt once more with the first video from their new album ‘Horse Power’.

Toronto based rap trio, Swamp Thing, return this Halloween with their seventh successive studio release titled ‘Horse Power’.

As is tradition the latest album from long-time collaborators Timbuktu, Chokeules and Savilion dropped on October 31st and serves as a natural follow up to their 2017 album ‘The Octagon‘.

‘Horse Power’ maintains the group’s “B-Movie” repertoire whilst pushing boundaries through bold concepts, atmospheric production and diverse rhyme-schemes.

Production comes from Timbuktu and Savilion whilst all three members provide vocals laced with dark themes and pop-culture references.

To promote the album, Swamp Thing have also dropped a new video for the track ‘Datsun’.

The video is directed by Chris Lazar. ‘Horse Power’ is released via Urbnet and can be purchased on CD, Cassette or as a digital release now.

About Swamp Thing | Swamp Thing is the brainchild of long time collaborators Timbuktu (Toolshed, Teenburger, Backburner), Chokeules (Toolshed, Backburner), and fellow Toronto emcee/producer Savilion (Creature Box, Backburner). Each member has been contributing to the Canadian hip hop scene for well over a decade, recording, touring, and putting out music. Both Savilion and Timbuktu are producers/engineers with credits ranging from Sadat X to Awol One, while Timbuktu and Chokeules have performed at festivals such as SXSW, NXNE, CMW, ManifesTO, and Under Pressure. They’ve also performed with notable acts like Aceyalone (Freestyle Fellowship), GZA (Wu-Tang Clan), Lootpack (Stone Throw), El Da Sensei (Artifacts), and many more.
