Take A First Look At The New X-Men TV Series – The Gifted

The Gifted, sounds a lot like Heroes, right? Take a first look at Marvel’s mutant based X-Men spin-off series.

High school kids develop mutant powers and must run and hide from a hostile government. Hardly an original concept and bearing some remarkable similarities to the 2000s sci-fi series ‘Heroes’, which is once more proven to have been ahead of the curve. There’s more. The daughter of the man charged with hunting down mutants being gifted with powers herself.

Seemingly being aimed at a family audience ‘The Gifted’ is set in the same universe as – but appears to exist in – a post X-Men world.

Bryan Singer has led the X-Men franchise throughout its cinematic journey and is on hand to direct this first television spin-off.

There’s a plethora of talent from the X-Men films and other Marvel character-based properties on hand. Executive-producing are writer Matt Nix, director Bryan Singer, Lauren Shuler Donner (X-Men: Apocalypse, X-Men: Days of Future Past, The Wolverine), Simon Kinberg (X-Men: Apocalypse, X-Men: Days of Future Past), Jeph Loeb (Marvel’s Daredevil, Marvel’s Jessica Jones) and Jim Chory (Marvel’s Daredevil, Marvel’s Jessica Jones).

No pressure then, don’t mess this up.

‘The Gifted’ will air on Fox in the U.S. this Autumn.

About The Gifted | The Gifted tells the story of a suburban couple whose ordinary lives are rocked by the sudden discovery that their children possess mutant powers. Forced to go on the run from a hostile government, the family joins up with an underground network of mutants and must fight to survive.
