The Iron Giant Returns to Cinemas Newly Remastered

The Iron Giant returns to cinemas in a newly remastered version incorporating two new scenes. This is ‘The Iron Giant: The Signature Edition’.

‘The Iron Giant’ was released to cinemas in 1999 and was directed by Brad Bird the director behind this years Tomorrowland and other films such as The Incredibles and Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol.

Despite being a critical success, it unfortunately didn’t perform so well at the cinema which some blame on Warner Brothers lack of publicity at the time. However the film found an audience on DVD but criminally it’s never been released on blu-ray.

On September 30th (with a limited repeat showing on October 4th) Warner Brothers are releasing ‘The Iron Giant’ back in cinemas in a newly remastered edition that also features two brand new scenes. The film will be then released for digital download soon after and possibly blu-ray but this has not been confirmed.

You can fond out more details about the US only cinemas screenings at Fathom Events.

Even if you don’t see the film at the cinema, do track down a copy as it’s a great film that needs more recognition.
