It’s probably not a surprise at this point that there’s a Cloverfield sequel on its way, but it was certainly kept very quiet.
Cloverfield was a pioneering, ‘found footage’, cult sci-fi movie from 2008. Produced by J.J. Abrams (Star Trek, Star Wars) the movie followed six teenagers who start their evening partying but soon find themselves fighting to survive a giant monster attack on the city. Cloverfield met mostly with positive reviews but failed to win over unanimous plaudits.
Now Paramount Pictures have released a trailer for the sequel no one knew was coming, and it’s coming soon. John Goodman features as we see a family living in what appears to be a bunker, except not everyone is content with the situation. An attempted escape leaves us guessing as to what lies outside of 10 Cloverfield Lane.
10 Cloverfield Lane hits cinemas in the U.S. from March 11th with a release date still to be set for the U.K. and much of the rest of the world.
Waking up from a car accident, a young woman finds herself in the basement of a man who says he’s saved her life from a chemical attack that has left the outside uninhabitable.
