Thunderbirds, the classic supermarionation (thats puppets to you and me) television series from 1965 is making a comeback to English television channel ITV in 2015.
First broadcast in the UK in 1965, Thunderbirds was a big success with a total of thirty two shows lasting for fifty minutes a piece. Thunderbirds was broadcast again in 1991 and a younger generation of fans discovered its charms.
The new show was first announced in February 2013. The press release informed us that the new Thunderbirds Are Go! would be a mixture of miniature live action sets and CGI characters created by Peter Jacksons special effects company, Weta (Lord Of The Rings Series, King Kong) . There will be twenty six episodes running for thirty minutes.
Since that announcement its all been very quiet until this viral teaser video appeared online in the last few days. Apparently this stolen security camera footage shows us the hacked entry into a vast warehouse with a glimpse of what must be Thunderbird 2, one of five specialised vehicles the Thunderbirds use for their rescue missions.
