The battle of the species continues when Caesar and his ape colony take on a ruthless human colonel.
You’re always a tad cautious when a reboot of a major property is announced. Then there’s the agonising wait for the first trailer to see if looks like its actually going to be any good. I’ll admit that this reboot for the Planet of the Apes franchise has been extremely good so far.
The first film, Planet of the Apes, unveils the story of how Cesar the ape became intelligent and started a rebellion against his human captors.
The following entry, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, reveals that 99% of the human population has been wiped out by a virus pandemic and are struggling to survive. Cesar is struggling to remain leader of his community and the two groups will eventually clash.
Apparently, after seeing director Matt Reeves first cut of Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, 20th Century Fox asked him to commit to another entry in the franchise and so next year will see the release of War of the Planet of the Apes.
This first teaser has been released to raise awareness of the films release next year and whilst there is no footage from the film, you can’t deny its simple and striking at the same time.
