The New Mutants takes the X-Men franchise in a dark direction as five young mutants, just discovering their abilities, must fight for their lives.
This is part of the X-Men franchise we’ve never seen on the big screen before as 20th Century Fox taps into the extensive pool of Marvel’s mutant storylines but introducing The New Mutants.
The film is being directed and developed by Josh Boone who began work once he’d finished on The Fault in our Stars.
Anya Taylor-Joy, Maisie Williams, Charlie Heaton, Henry Zaga, Blu Hunt, and Alice Braga star as the young captives in a secret facility where they begin to discover their special abilities.
The New Mutants certainly looks a lot darker than anything we’ve seen before from the X-Men franchise with jumps and scares galore. It’s certainly refreshing to see the series taking a different direction.
Anya Taylor-Joy will take on the role of Illyana Rasputin aka Magik, the sister of Colossus. Game of Thrones star, Maisie Williams, is Rahne Sinclair aka Wolfsbane, Charlie Heaton is Sam Guthrie aka Cannonball, Henry Zaga plays Roberto da Costa aka Sunspot and Blu Hunt plays Danielle Moonstar aka Mirage.
The New Mutants is scheduled to hit cinemas on Friday 13th April 2018.
